Opening
The monthly meeting of The Washington County Commission for Women was called to order on
Zoom at 6:00 pm on 6/9/21

Updates
Reviewed current membership list
Budget update: Jillian Potter shared that we have $1200 to be spent by June 30, 2021.
Current social media theme is financial empowerment. Shadae spoke about WCCW’s branded
themes and will continue posting financial content throughout the month.
Subcommittee updates: Small business and financial empowerment update by
Barbara...practicing 30 sec elevator speeches. Health and Wellness update by Amy
Miller...focusing on Maternal Health and beginning with a county wide survey to discover needs.
New Agenda Items
Quorum not met so we are not able to vote on new board positions. We will plan to formally vote
at the July meeting.
Discussed options for spending June budget. Suggestions for spending include: business cards
for members; Girl’s Inc, Boys and Girls Club and Robert Johnson Center camp sponsorships;
United Way Day of Caring 2021 financial sponsor supporting both the health and wellness and
financial projects; library summer programs, future endeavors investment.
Top choices are summer camp, library work and purchasing promotional materials.
$50 for business cards, $200 branded items for summer camp giveaway, $846 for camperships.
Suggestion for image of campers wearing WCCW shirts or lunchboxes and use image on social
media.
Barbara Martin will call the 3 organizations to plan campership funds. She will ask them what we
can offer to benefit them the most.
Amy will research promotional items. Shadae will design business cards.
Called for an extra meeting on June 23 at 6:00 pm to solidify plans.
Round table meeting June 10.
Follow up on “Get to Know You” event at winery. Melissa Wilder not available to give
update...Shadae will contact her for info.
June 25 promotional table at Imagine Next Hagerstown.We will set up information table.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:24 pm by Shadae Paul. The next meeting will be on 6/23/21 at 6:00
pm on zoom.
