Present Arthur Hicks, Zsun-nee Matema-Miller, Carlos Mellott, Maria Eugenia Wetzel, Commissioner Jeff Cline General Public: See attached sign in sheet Notes and comments gathered from Listening Sesion: Diversity — Different background,gultures, not enough of it. Not only ethinic diversity but disabilities, LGBTQ Inclusion: Biggest part, methods for inclusion when people are exclusive Ways in which we can work together Heard stereo types of lack of inclusion in the County LGBTQ+ protection, undermine stereotypes, suicide, What are people afraid of? What do they believe? Understand elements of the problem IIIA.- Library system trying to take on this task/International Fair Adults are the target Tools to interact- educational piece. Where do they go to worship/opportunity for exposure? How do we interact with Diverse cultures? Respecting and knowing differences in culture Schools/education Small groups Highlighting greatness/exposure/like Hispanic festival Municipalities- all should be a part of the Listening Tour Facilitating conversations Coming together Grassroots community effort Interfaith Community- symbols and education Employment Monthly meeting in Hancock? Economics and Opportunities (equal)?
