Meeting Minutes
July 8, 2019
Opening
The regular meeting of the Washington County Diversity and Inclusion Committee was called to order on
time on July 8, 2019 in 100 West Washington Street by Committee Chairperson Mr. Arthur Hicks.
Present
Arthur Hicks, Zsun-nee Matema-Miller, Carlos Reyes, Maria Wentzel, and Carlos Mellott. Members of
the Public in attendance: None.
New Business:
The meeting was called to order at approximately 5:30pm at 100 W. Washington Street in Hagerstown.
Chairperson Hicks and the group finalized the Committee Member formation of Subcommittee
responsibilities pursuant to By -lays (Article III).

The group discussed a press release and announcement at next Commissioner meeting to announce and
seek membership for subcommittees. Chairperson Hicks shared posters for the purpose of
presentations to share information about the subcommittees and the Committee as a whole.
Committee members should now be recruiting for their subcommittees and begin to hold meetings.
The group then discussed the Budget for 2019.
The group discussed the presentation for September 2019. Mrs. Williams will compile a draft list of
potential invitees and the Committee will discuss and put forward names at the next meeting. This will
be more of a presentation with the goal of sharing the Committee and the goals of the Committee with
leaders and influencers in Washington County to help further the charges of the Committee.
The meeting was adjourned by Chairperson Arthur Hicks at approximately 6:45 pm. The next general
meeting will tentatively occur on _August 12_at 5:30.
