HomeMy WebLinkAbout210309 - Minutes, Electrical BdWASHINGTON COUNTY ELECTRICAL BOARD OF EXAMINERS & SUPERVISORS MEETING MINUTES March 09, 2021 A&B CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Robert Kochera called the regular monthly meeting of the Washington County Electrical Board to order at 7:27 a.m. on March 09, 2021 located at Hagerstown Light Department. Members present were Charlie Shindle, Danny Sterling, and Terry Molnar. Becky Gander, Chrysta Hays and Brittany Young, from the Division of Plan Review and Permitting. MINUTES The minutes for the February 9, 2021 Electrical Board meeting were accepted as written. Terry Molnar made the motion to approve, Charlie Shindle seconded the motion. OPEN SESSION OLD BUSINESS 1. EXPIRED TERMS • Becky Gander advised that she or Chrysta Hays will follow up with county clerk for an update. 2. EXAM APPLICATION FOR REVIEW • Bob Kochera advised the board would like Merle Vaughn to attend the next board meeting on April 13, 2021. • Bob Kochera advised that Merle Vaughn is to bring any documentation necessary to support his application. NEW BUSINESS 1. PERMITTING COMMENTS • Becky Gander advised Brittany Young will be assisting Chrysta Hays with board meetings. • Becky Gander advised the permitting office has remained busy. • Becky Gander advised over 900 permits have been processed (building and trade) between January 2021 – March 2021. WASHINGTON COUNTY ELECTRICAL BOARD OF EXAMINERS & SUPERVISORS 2. MUELEC BOARD • Bob Kochera advised Senate Bill 762 and House Bill 1262 has been submitted by the MEULEC board. • The board interpreted from the bills submitted, the State of Maryland wants to be the sole source for testing and issuing electrical licenses, no longer the county. • Becky Gander advised she sent Senate Bill 762 and House Bill 1262 to the County Attorney’s Office. • Bob Kochera inquired about the number of licenses in Washington County that have reciprocated from another county instead of the State. • Becky Gander advised she will provide a report of the current number of county electrical licenses. 3. GRADING OF THE MARCH 3, 2021 ELECTRICAL EXAM • Todd Marshall passed his Low Voltage Exam with 70%. 4. APPLICANTS THAT WERE ISSUED AN ELECTRICAL LICENSE 1.
