HomeMy WebLinkAbout200310 - Minutes, Electrical BdWASHINGTON COUNTY ELECTRICAL BOARD OF EXAMINERS & SUPERVISORS MEETING MINUTES March 10, 2020 A&B CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Robert Kochera called the regular monthly meeting of the Washington County Electrical Board to order at 7:30 a.m. on March 10, 2020 in Conference Room “1A” of the Washington County Administrative Annex Building in Hagerstown, Maryland. Members present were Charlie Shindle, Terry Molnar, Steve Ryan and Daniel Sterling. Becky Gander and Tasha Shifflett, from the Division of Plan Review and Permitting. MINUTES The minutes for the February 11, 2020 Electrical Board meeting were accepted as written. OPEN SESSION NEW BUSINESS 1. PERMITTING COMMENTS • Becky Gander advised she spoke with Rich Eichelberger regarding vehicle lettering. • She advised Rich would like the Board to create a memo that the inspectors can hand out to the electricians in the field that do not have the proper vehicle lettering. • Becky mentioned she believes there is already a memo that was created when this policy went into effect • Becky advised we would then note it in our system and inform the Board about the number of letters and to whom they were issued to. At that point, the Board can decide if further action is necessary. 2. EXAM APPLICATION FOR REVIEW • Tasha Shifflett advised the Board that Merle Vaughn is requesting to take the electrical exam, but he did not return her call, regarding missing documents. • Becky Gander advised the Board that Merle has been in business for years doing HVAC work and would like to get a restricted electrical license just to be able to electrical work involved with installing HVAC systems. • Robert Kochera suggested making a special exception for Merle Vaughn since he would only be doing electrical work for installations of HVAC. WASHINGTON COUNTY ELECTRICAL BOARD OF EXAMINERS & SUPERVISORS • The Board agreed that it would be best to ask Merle Vaughn to attend the next meeting on, April 14, 2020 to discuss with him his previous training and get a better feel for his knowledge of electrical work. • Becky Gander advised we will issue Merle Vaughn a letter and will mail it to him. The meeting was adjourned at 7:50am
