HomeMy WebLinkAbout200114 - Minutes, Electrical BdWASHINGTON COUNTY ELECTRICAL BOARD OF EXAMINERS & SUPERVISORS MEETING MINUTES January 14, 2020 A&B CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Robert Kochera called the regular monthly meeting of the Washington County Electrical Board to order at 7:30 a.m. on January 14, 2020 in Conference Room “1A” of the Washington County Administrative Annex Building in Hagerstown, Maryland. Members present were Charlie Shindle, Terry Molnar and Daniel Sterling. Becky Gander and Tasha Shifflett, from the Division of Plan Review and Permitting. MINUTES The minutes for the December 10, 2019 Electrical Board meeting were accepted as written. OPEN SESSION NEW BUSINESS 1.PERMITTING COMMENTS •Becky Gander advised that renewals for licenses are this year. She advised that now would be good time to make any changes to the renewal memo if there are any. •Becky Gander advised we will add this to the agenda to an upcoming meeting to review. •Terry Molnar stated that he is noticing a lot of vehicles doing electrical work in Washington County without the proper vehicle lettering. Becky Gander advised that this has always been an issue and when an applicant applies for a license, they are only required to submit one photo showing the proper vehicle lettering, not for the entirefleet as licenses are issued to individuals and not companies. 2.TERM EXPIRATION FOR BOARD MEMEBERS •Robert Kochera, Charlie Shindle and Steve Ryan all have terms that expire this year. Becky Gander advised the Board, that they should be thinking about this and requests for reappointments or for new applicants should be submitted no later than May in order to get on the agenda to take before the Commissioners. WASHINGTON COUNTY ELECTRICAL BOARD OF EXAMINERS & SUPERVISORS 3. REVIEW OF 2020 BOARD MEETING DATES AND EXAM TEST DATES • Board members were given a copy of the 2020 meetings dates and exam test dates. • Board approved these as submitted. 4. COMPLAINT FROM DLLR-FUNK ELECTRICAL SERVICES, INC. • Board agreed this is a civil issue and no further action is required from the Board. Becky Gandy advised the Board that we should send a letter to Funk Electric making them aware of the complaint submitted to this board, The meeting was adjourned at 7:50am
