Minutes of Gaming Commission
July 17, 2024
Members Present and via zoom: Matt Schnebley -Chair, Mike Hansen -Vice Chair,
Dawn Wintermoyer, Marilee Kerns, Selena Wilkes and Paul Crampton, Jr.
Members Absent: None
Staff present: Nicole Phillips and Julie Mackereth
I. Opening -Welcome
Matt Schnebley -Chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. He welcomed
everyone.
II. Citizens Participation
None scheduled
Ill. Approval of Minutes: June 13, 2024
A motion was made by Marilee Kerns; seconded by Mike Hansen to approve
June 13, 2024, minutes as written motion approved
IV. Financial Report
Nicole Phillips -Senior Grant Manager reviewed the FY2024 Gaming Fund
Financial Report that was included in each commissioner's packet. She reported,
the total amount of gaming funds for FY24 was $2,414,285.89 of which by statue
half is distributed to the Fire & Rescue Association, leaving $1,207,142.95 for
allocations. This amount is down 5.06% from last year.
V. Director's Comments
Nicole Phillips -Senior Grant Manger shared all organizations listed on the
worksheet are eligible for gaming funding. She thanked the commissioners for
their commitment and time to participate in the gaming fund workshop.

Conduct 2024 Gaming Fund Allocation Workshop
8:45 a.m. Matt Schnebley-Chair requested a motion to enter closed
session; Paul Crampton, Jr. motioned; Marilee Kerns seconded, motion
approved
1 :45 p.m. Matt Schnebley -Chair requested a motion to reconvene in open
session; Mairlee Kerns motioned: Paul Crampton, Jr. seconded, motion
approved
Matt Schnebley -Chair asked for a motion to accept the Gaming Commission
application awards as allocated by the Gaming Commissioners. Selena Wilkes
motioned; seconded by Mike Hansen to accept the a/locations as awarded.
motion approved, unanimous vote
Paul Crampton, Jr. abstained from voting on allocaUons for Discovery Station and
The Maryland Theatre.

Adjournment
A motion to adjourn was made by Man1ee Kerns; seconded by Paul Crampton, Jr.
for adjournment, so moved, meeting adjourned at 1 :59 p.m.
Meeting Reminder: August 6, 2024 -Presenting award allocations to the Board of
County Commissioners.
