Washington Street, Room 2000 Hagerstown, MD 21740 Minutes of Gaming Commission Funding Hearing June 13, 2024 Members Present: Matt Schnebley -Chair, Mike Hansen -Vice Chair, Dawn Wintermoyer, Marilee Kerns and Selena Wilkes Members Absent: Paul Crampton, Jr. Staff present: Rachel Souders, Nicole Phillips and Julie Mackereth I. Opening -Welcome Matt Schnebley -Chair called the meeting to order at 8:36 a.m. II. Citizens Participation None scheduled Ill. Approval of Minutes: February 22, 2024 A motion was made by Marilee Kerns; seconded by Dawn Wintermoyer to approve February 22, 2024, minutes as written; motion approved IV. Financial Report Director Souders reviewed the FY2024 Gaming Fund Financial Report, it reflects a 5.27% decrease in funding over this time last year. The final allocation amount available wi ll be announced at the funding workshop on July 17th . V. Director's Comments Director Souders thanked the Gaming Commissioners for taking the time out of their busy schedules to attend the Gaming Funding Hearings. New Business • Conduct 2024 Gaming Fund Hearings -The in-person funding hearings commenced at 8:45 a.m. Each organization was given 5 minutes to present their request and answer any questions from the Gaming Commissioners. The commissioners took a 40-minute lunch break, the hearings concluded at 3:44 p.m. • Of the 76 organizations that applied for gaming funding , 60 signed up to participate in the gaming fund hearings, 57 were present. • Meeting dates remaining: ► Wednesday, July 17, 2024-Funding Workshop ► August TBD -Report to County Commissioners VIII. Commissioner's Comments -None XI.
