The Regular Meeti ng of the Board of County Commissioners o Washingt n County was
called to order at 9:00 .m, by the Presiden , Rich rd E. Rou ette , w· h the
following members present: Vice President Rona d L. Bowers , and Commissioners
Linda c. Irv ·n-Craig, Gregory . Snook, and Johns. Shank.
INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Invocation was delivered by Commis ·on 1rvin-Craig, followed by the Pledge
of Allegi nc to the Flag by the fu assem Jage.
60/40 MATCH PROGRAM -AGRI CULTURAL EASEMENTS

remain "ng FY 993 program . He reconmended that the County commit $4 0,000 for the
• st cycle of easement pu chase.

STATE 8IGHWAY ADMINISTRATION PROJECT SUMMARY STATUS
Gary Rohre r, Chief o the Di vi~ion of Public Works, discussed with th
Commissioners th projects which will be ev'ewed a the tate Highway
Admini tration ' annual tour of Washington C unty. He st ted th t the projects
are b ok n down into prim ry projects and pecial projects . The primary projects
are a follows: Interch nge at I-81 and Halfway Boulevard; MD Rou e 65: U.S .
Route 11 (n rth of N rthe n Av nue ); and U.S . Route 40 and E tern Bou evat"d .
Sp cial projects to be submitt dare MD Route 60 east of M' e Church Road; MD
Route 65 at R publ • can Avenue; and Rt. 40 a Hebb and Day R a s. The
Commissioners sked that the dra ·na problems on Route 64 below Food Lion also

SCHOOLHOUSE MANOR COMPLEX
Kath een Riley , Chi~f , Division of Citizen S vices, and ian Nowell-Griffin,
Rental Progr ms M nager , appeared before th Commissioners to inform them that
the State recently audited the Scho lhouse M nor Elderly Housing Comp ex in
Boon boro and r c ·v an over 11 superior r ti ng. The Conun·ss·one s
cong atu ated the Housing & Community Development staff for th ir work .

Th Commissioners decided not to request a public informational meeting from t he
