PROPOSED SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE
The Planning and Zoning Commission have continued to meet
in numerous workshop sessions in order to consider all
written comments received relating to the Preliminary Sub-
division Ordinance.
The Technical Workshop Committee consisting of Mr. James F.
Strine County Attorney, Mr. James Rooney of the Department
of Health and Mr. W. D. Jones Planning Director which was
established at a workshop session in November of 1969 has
continued to analyze the proposed regulations. Numerous
consultations and meetings were held in order that all legal
aspects of the proposed document could be taken under con-
sideration.
The full Planning and Zoning Commission have continued to
meet in workshop sessions in order to consider all written
comments received relating to the Preliminary Subdivision
Ordinance.
On April 2, 1970, Public Hearing was held at 7:30 P. M. in
Court Room No. 2 of the Washington County Court House and
was attended by approximately 80 interested persons. All
present were given an opportunity to express their views
regarding the proposed Ordinance and at the conclusion of
this Public Hearing, which was recorded by Court Stenographer
and also tape recorded, further written comments were invited
which were fully considered by the Commission, cross referenced
and incorporated into a final draft document.
This final draft of the proposed Subdivision Ordinance was
submitted to the Board of Washington County Commissioners on
July 6, 1970 for their consideration.
On August 26, 1970, the County Commissioners held Public Hearing
on the Preliminary Subdivision Ordinance after which a joint
workshop was arranged with the Planning and Zoning Commission
Technical Committee to study recommendations made by the
public.
The revised Subdivision Ordinance was adopted by the County
Commissioners and became effective on September 8, 1970 at
3:03 P. M.
