Funding Hearing
June 17, 2021
Members Present: Kay Hoffman - Chair, Brandy Osborne, Sam Cool, Leon Debes and Mike Hansen
Members absent: David Kline
Staff present: Susan Buchanan, Rachel Souders and Julie Mackereth
I. Opening — Welcome
Washington County Gaming Commission Funding Hearing was called to order at
8:30 a.m. by Kay Hoffman — Chair. Welcoming the newest board members Leon Debes and
Mike Hansen, the commissioners went around the room and introduced themselves.
II. Citizens Participation
Funding Hearings began at 9:10 a.m. Due to COVID-19 guidelines being in place when the
hearing date was determined, the organizations presented their request for funding via zoom.
III. Approval of the May 13, 2021 Minutes
A motion was made by Brandy Osborne, seconded by Leon Debes to approve May 13, 2021
minutes as written; motion approved
IV. Financial Report
Director Buchanan reviewed the FY2021 Gaming Fund Financial Report that was included in
each member's packet. She reported, it has been a healthy year for gaming and funding
numbers are high. We are on pace to possibly fully fund many organization's request. Susan
shared, she will have the total amount to be allocated at the July 27th workshop. She
reminded, per Gaming State Statue -commissioner's must disburse all available funds.

V. Director's Comments
Director Buchanan reported, she has submitted a name to the delegation for a potential Gaming
Commissioner to represent the Restaurant, Beverage, Tavern industry. To date she is waiting
for the delegations approval.
VI. Old Business
None
VII. New Business: Conduct 2021 Gaming Fund Hearings
The zoom Funding Hearings commenced at 9:10 a.m., each organization was give 5
minutes to represent their organizations request to the commissioner's and to answer any
questions they may have had. The commissioners took a 35 minute lunch break. The
hearings concluded at 1:52 p.m.
Of the 63 organizations requesting Gaming Funds only 40 participated in the hearings.
Meeting dates:
➢ Thursday, July 21, 2021, 9:00 a.m. — Funding Workshop
➢ August 3rd or 10th, 2021 — Report to County Commissioners
Vlll. Commissioner's Comments — The Commissioner's had no comments.
XI. Adjournment
A motion to adjourn was made by Brandy Osborne, seconded by Sam Cool for
adjournment; so moved, meeting adjourned at 1:59 p.m.
