We, the undersigned, oppose the demolition of the Fridinger/Dickinson farm complex and the construction
of two warehouses on that site. The proposed commercial use of the site creates a loss to the historic
resources of Washington County, MD, and would seriously increase traffic on Rt. 40 and Rt. 144. Both would
adversely affect residential quality of life. Increasing "big rig" traffic impacts air quality from the added
diesel emissions and interferes with everyday travel for area residents.
We also support revising the Demolition Permit Process for Washington County for historic sites to meet
state and federal standards.
