MEETING MINUTES January 12, 2021 A&B CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Robert Kochera called the regular monthly meeting of the Washington County Electrical Board to order at 7:37 a.m. on January 12, 2021 via virtual meeting. Members present were Charlie Shindle and Terry Molnar. Becky Gander and Chrysta Hays, from the Division of Plan Review and Permitting.
MINUTES The minutes for the March 10, 2020 Electrical Board meeting were accepted as written.
OPEN SESSION NEW BUSINESS
1. PERMITTING COMMENTS
• Becky Gander advised that during COVID-19 the permitting office is closed to the public
and permit applications can be submitted by drop off, email, or mail in. Staff is teleworking and not in the office full time, but we are still returning calls and answering emails as quickly as possible.
• Becky Gander advised Electrical License renewals are being processed and due to COVID-19 and the uncertainty of the US Postal Service, no late fees are being assessed.
• Becky Gander advised the county is in the process of implementing electronic plan review as well as expanding the online permitting services. Once implemented all permit applications, licenses, and renewals will be submitted online.
• Becky Gander advised a new permit technician was hired on December 7, 2020, Gretchen Devore. The Division of Plan Review and Permitting is also in the process of hiring another
permit technician to fill the second vacant position and will be taken before the County Commissioners for approval of the selected applicant.
• Becky Gander advised permit technician Katie Rathvon was promoted to Zoning Coordinator and permit technician Chrysta Hays was promoted to Office Manager.
• Becky Gander advised Chrysta Hays will be the Clerk to the Electrical Board and the Plumbing and HVAC Board.

2. ELECTRICAL EXAMS
• Becky Gander advised she has contacted Tom Brown for guidance regarding administering exams.
• Becky Gander advised that until we receive correspondence from Tom Brown, we will be unable to administer exams at our location.
3. MUELEC BOARD
• Bob Kochera stated that he was aware the MUELEC Board meetings have been canceled due to COVID-19. Charlie Shindle confirmed that statement and the board agreed to proceed as is until the MUELEC Board meetings are no longer canceled. 4. EXPIRED TERMS
• Becky Gander advised she will send the request to Krista Hart to extend the terms for all board members that have expired terms to the County Commissioners for approval. 5. APPLICATION ON FILE
• Becky Gander advised Troy McIntire has applied to serve on the board. 6. EXAM APPLICATION FOR REVIEW
