HomeMy WebLinkAbout920526 May 26, 1992 Hagerstown, Maryland 21740 PUBLIC HEARING - CONSTANT YIELD TAX RATE & PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR 1993 BUDGET The Public Hearing to consider the property tax rate and Fiscal Year 1993 proposed budget was called to order at 7:00 p.m. in Court Room #1 by the President of the Washington County Commissioners, Richard E. Roulette, with the following members present: Vice President Ronald L. Bowers, and Commissioners Linda C. Irvin-Craig, John S. Shank, and Gregory I. Snook. Barry Teach, County Administrator, announced that the public hearing is being held to permit the residents of Washington County to comment concerning the Commissioners intention to continue the current tax rate of $2.2l per $l00 of assessed valuation for Fiscal Year l993, as required by the Tax Property Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland, Sections 2-205 and 6-508, and the proposed Fiscal Year 1993 budget. Mr. Teach provided a presentation of the proposed General Fund budget which totals $75,839,000, the Highway Fund Budget in the amount of $9,717,627, and the Capital Improvements Budget in the amount of $18,376,425. The hearing was then opened for public comments and questions. After all testimony was given, Mr. Teach announced that in accordance with the provisions of the Tax Property Article, the Board of County Commissioners will adopt the tax rate for Fiscal year 1993 on June 2, 1992, at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioners' Meeting Room 227 on the second floor of the County Administration Building. The hearing was closed at 8:30 p.m. and the meeting adjourned. County Attorney , Clerk
