A Special Meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of Washington County was
called to order at 2:30 p.m. by the President, Ronald L. Bowers, with the
following members present: Vice President Richard E. Roulette and Commissioner
Linda C. Irvin.
The County Administrator read a letter from Dr. John Neill, Health Officer for
Washington County, regarding the potential health hazards created by the large,
commercial hog farming operations.
CONVENE AS BOARD OF HEALTH
Motion made by Commissioner Roulette, seconded by Irvin to convene as the Board of
Health at 2:35 p.m. to discuss the potential health problems created by large,
commercial animal husbandry farming operations. Unanimously approved.
RECONVENE IN REGULAR SESSION AND ADJOURN
Motion made by Commissioner Irvin, seconded by Roulette to reconvene in Regular
Session and adjourn at 3:00 p.m.
The Minutes of the Board of Health Meeting and the Order adopted this date to
prohibit the establishment or expansion of large commercial animal husbandry
enterprises are kept in a separate file for Board of Health Minutes.
