HomeMy WebLinkAbout19.11.13 - Minutes, Disabilities Advisory CmteDisabilities Advisory Committee 11/13/19 Opening The meeting of the Washington County Disabilities Advisory Committee was called to order at 2:30pm by Commissioner Cort F. Meinelschmidt, 100 West Washington Street, Second Floor, and Hagerstown. Present Commissioner Cort F. Meinelschmidt, Deborah Condo, Angie Auldridge, Kris Detrow, Amanda Distefano, Heidi Kendall, Linda Mae Kline, Randolph Samu and Sarah Thornton Citizen Participation 1 individual in attendance and would like to work Attendance review: VanScoyoc excused Nominations: Chair-Randolph Samu Vice-Chair Amanda Distefano Secretary Heidi Kendall Voting approved the above members in their positions New business: • Washington County has approved the ability to have closed captioning for live you tube video feed. This is to begin now. We will be looking into official announcements for this support service. • A motion to add disability focused summer camp resources onto the agenda • Quality childcare providers like babysitting services and needing appropriate training resources for individuals wanting to step into these roles • Ability to utilize changing tables for adults that may require this resource • Creating a main database/catchall with Washington County Website for individuals to access needed supports and services • Sibling Support-ARC has looked into this to attempt to get off the ground but have had difficulty in this area • Vocational Support Services and Resources-will be pulling together resources within the committee to share a consolidated list of Vocational Support Programs in Washington County as well as a list of any set aside contracts that may be in place already Dec 16, 2019 @2:30pm (will be trying to do the 3rd Monday of every month)-will be looking into a conference call arrangement and or skype. We will figure out what to do for January and February meetings as the 3rd Monday falls on holidays. We will also prioritize the action item list that has been identified (Resource Center being one)
