Opening
The meeting of the Washington County Disabilities Advisory Committee was called to order at 2:30pm
by Commissioner Cort F. Meinelschmidt, 100 West Washington Street, Second Floor, and Hagerstown.

*We are not counting this meeting attendance against any committee members due to the short time
frame notifying the committee of the date change*
Community Interests thus far:

Transportation
Review of new business list from 11/13/19 meeting minutes and general discussion on what are focus
will be for this year.
• Concern related to liability to share community resources to callers-we will be looking to build a
resource guide to share with those individuals living within Washington County. The individuals
will be able to review the resource list and determine next steps. We will be looking into
establishing point of contacts for each of the community resources that we are providing. We
will establish a website/website link this year. On Facebook a resource was identified called:
Campaign for disability employment resources and mentioned blasting the disability committee
on Washington county Facebook page.
Questions:
How much participation have we received from the community regarding the
resources available?
What is the intern process for Washington County? Are interns able to update
resource lists/identify if the points of contact have changed?
Community Solutions Hub-is this something we can tap into? Do we share
resources with each other and utilize community solutions hub as our primary
resource? https://www.unitedwaywashcounty.org/communitysolutionshub
Cost of brochures? Booklets? PDF? Access point through app?
Could we do a resource summit? Virtually?
• Transportation Resource: Community Action Council www.wccac.org (transport to Baltimore
and DC areas) Wheelchair accessible.
Schedule review
The committee originally reviewed and agreed to having the meeting every 3rd Monday of the month.
Due to varying schedule conflicts we reviewed and discussed moving the meeting to 3rd Thursday of the
month at 9:30am. Next scheduled meeting is February 20, 2020 at 9:30am in Conference Room 1301 on
first floor. We will discuss conference calling as an option for this committee should a schedule conflict
arise with one of the committee members.
